UBC Sustainability Action programme 2022-2030 - information & consultation event is an open event for all UBC members to get informed on the process or preparing the next Sustainability Action Programme and to contribute to it with ideas, input and comments, so that we together shape a strong sustainability strategy for our network! Cascading consequences of climate hazards – How to make cities more resilient in the Baltic Sea Region? The first UBC TALKS webinar in 2021 will take place on 30 March at 9.30-11.00 CET. We will learn about strengthening of cities' resilience towards climate hazards based on the experiences of the project CASCADE.

The XXI International Environmental Forum "Baltic Sea Day" will be organized on 23-24 March 2021 under the theme "Sustainable Development for the Baltic Sea – Long Road to the Healthy Baltic Sea". UBC Sustainable Cities Commission will take an active part in the forum, presenting own activities as well as highlighting the achievements of its BSR WATER platform.

The Ecocity Forum will be held as a hybrid event on 16-17 March 2021 to enable participants to attend either virtually or in person at Lahti’s magnificent timber-built concert venue and conference centre Sibelius Hall.

How can we transform our urban areas from car-dominated spaces to spaces for people? Can we support changes to the way that people travel in cities through the provision of multimodal infrastructure and options? And how can we together with our residents, create a city space for all?

European Dialogue for Sustainable Cities is a brand new dialogue series by Lahti – European Green Capital 2021. The talk show features thrilling debates on European cities’ environmental solutions, innovations, and cooperation models amid an ecological crisis and corona pandemic. The show features experts from cities, researchers, companies, NGOs, and students. Each episode features a previous winner of the European Green Capital Award. The theme of the second episode is ”Eco-innovation” and we welcome Stockholm, the first European Green Capital from 2010, to the show!
