Dissemination event: Handbook for Climate Change Adaptation Planning
Welcome to the online dissemination event of the Handbook for Climate Change Adaptation Planning in the Baltic Sea Region, the guidelines for preparing and drafting the climate change adaptation plan for local governments in the Baltic Sea Region.
The handbook provides a 10-step approach for the local governments to prepare and plan climate adaptation strategies in the Baltic Sea Region. The event is organised by CBSS in the framework of the project “Climate Mainstreaming Locally in the Baltic Sea Region” (CliMaLoc) funded by the Swedish Institute and the Council of the Baltic Sea States long-term priority Sustainable and Prosperous Region. Register to participate in the event (register by 9 March 2023).
”The handbook gives both a framework for understanding importance of the resilience building at a local level and provides useful tips for first steps on a long road to mainstream climate into daily activities amongst local governments.”
Valdur Lahtvee, Advisor for the CBSS
CliMaLoc project aims to support local authorities in BSR countries to mainstream climate and establish partnerships for cooperation in this field in the future. It includes integrating climate aspects into local development plans, better aligning to the Agenda 2030 and supporting the efforts of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region to promote low-carbon economies across sectors and policies. The CliMaLoc project takes place between June 2021 and March 2023.
