Join to learn more about energy sufficiency and how to reduce our energy use!

The concept of energy sufficiency is spreading all over Europe and it can help local and regional communities reach their climate and energy objectives. Energy sufficiency is firstly a matter of behaviour and consumption: It’s about having enough without using too much. It’s about acting differently and leading a good life within the limits. Energy sufficiency relies on prioritising essential needs in both individual and collective energy usage. Energy sufficiency, therefore, goes beyond energy efficiency.

The need to improve our consumption behaviours is the central idea around the Save@work project that will be presented at the webinar. The project has been looking at how we can reduce energy consumption in the office by encouraging staff to make small changes to their everyday workplace behaviours. This initiative encourages all employees to look at how they use energy in a simple, inclusive and fun way.

Moreover, the webinar is part of the Cities Energy Saving Sprint, a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Covenant of Mayors – Europe and the European Committee of the Regions to support cities in taking measures that will immediately reduce their energy consumption.

Saving energy has been an integral part of mid-term and long-term local climate and energy planning. The current energy crisis requires that these efforts be reinforced, while calling for emergency energy saving measures.

The Covenant of Mayors – Europe Office, the Energy and Climate Department of the Paris Region Institute and the Beratungs- und Service-Gesellschaft Umwelt mbH (B.&S.U.) are joining forces for an exclusive webinar on on the topic. Join on the 15th of December at 10:00 CET to learn how citizens, public authorities and employees can reduce their energy consumption and apply the concept of energy sufficiency in their everyday life.
