UBC Sustainable Cities Commission Meeting titled "Resource Wisdom and Biosphere areas in UBC cities" will take place on 16 - 18 May 2017 in Jyväskylä.

What are the pathways that lead to a more sustainable world? Pathways to Sustainability Transformation Science Day 2017 provide as a discussion forum for researchers, students, policy makers, companies and other interest groups in order to support dialogue between science and the society and serve as a platform for sustainability scientists to present their latest research findings. To increase the societal impact of the event, we also aim to produce a policy brief, which will be formed from the findings discussed in the event.

Linnaeus Eco-Tech conference that is held in Kalmar (Sweden) on 21-23 November 2016 celebrates a Jubilee this year. The conference occurring for the 10th time promotes sustainability across the Baltic Sea and focuses on developing technologies for waste and wastewater treatment and environmental remediation. The IWAMA project run by the UBC Sustainable Cities Commission will have its own session on the conference.

The beginning of November in Sweden will be lightened by the major annual event for the EU in the Baltic Sea Region: the 7th Strategy Forum of the EUSBSR held at the Brewery Conference Centre in Stockholm. The Conference’s programme is tight to fit dozens of events into two days (8-9 November 2016).

On 26-28 October 2016, the City of Freiburg (Germany) will welcome everyone to participate in the annual conference on sustainable urban development. The theme of this year is Energising the Smart City and Region, and the event is organized together with the City of Basel (Switzerland) and ICLEI Europe.
