Welcome to the webinar "Climate-neutral and resource-efficient water sector" on 18 February 2021 at 9.00–10.45 CET! The event is organized by the BSR WATER platform. The event will open with a keynote on transitioning to climate smart cities from Corinne Trommsdorff, CEO & Founder of the Water Cities.

The workshop on emerging hazardous substances "Pathways to targeted PFAS removal – from policy to technology" welcomes everyone on 16 February 2021 at 9.00–12.00 CET. The event is co-organized by the UBC Sustainable Cities Commission in the framework of the project EMPEREST (En-masse Mapping of PFAS In Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluents for REuse STrategies in the Baltic Sea Region).

A sustainable future for the Baltic Sea requires active actions. Participate in the international online seminar organized by the Baltic Sea Challenge on 11 February 10.00–15.00 EET! The seminar will highlight the Agenda 2030 goals in the protection of the Baltic Sea. The seminar will be opened by the Mayor of the City of Turku Minna Arve. We will also hear a greeting from the City of Helsinki's Deputy Mayor Anni Sinnemäki. The program includes two keynote lectures, four parallel sessions, and a workshop.

On 2 December 2020 the transnational networking event “Beach Wrack in the Blue Bio Economy” will be organized by CONTRA project. The event will offer a platform for information exchange between management authorities, researchers and private companies active in the field of beach wrack management. The aim is to build innovation capacity in the sector and encourage cooperation between stakeholders.

The UBC TALKS webinar in November will open up the theme "Ensuring water safety from hazardous substances". We will talk about ways to improve addressing hazardous substances in the wastewater treatment process, how to tackle industrial discharges into the municipal wastewater treatment line, and discuss best ways to raise awareness of citizens regarding their role in this cycle.

The 11th EUSBSR Annual Forum will take place online on 20 October 2020. The theme of the Forum this year is "Our Region, Our Future – Towards a Decade of Innovation and Sustainability".

The EUSBSR workshop "Unlocking the nutrient recycling potential in the Baltic Sea Region" will discuss the state-of-the-art in nutrient recycling within and across the two sectors: agriculture and municipal wastewater management. The workshop will be organized on 30 September 2020, 13.00–15.30 CET (14.00–16.30 EET) via Zoom.

Cities and water sector professionals are invited for the discussion on developing smart and sustainable stormwater planning and management. NORDIWA – Nordic Waste Water Conference will take place in Helsinki, Finland, on 23–25 September 2019. NORDIWA is a leading Nordic event for water professionals focusing on wastewater management and climate change adaptation in the Nordic region. BSR WATER platform will join NORDIWA this year for the workshop "Protection and co-operation around the Baltic Sea".

Discussing the future of the European Water Directive and Schowcasing ambition under midnight sun! Finnish authorities invite Europe-INBO this year to hold the 17th “EUROPE-INBO” International Conference, co-organized with the “Group of European Basin Authorities for the Implementation of the European Water Directives”. The event will take place from 17-20 June 2019 at Sibelius Hall in Lahti, Finland. Register now & find important information on the event website.

International environmental campaign “Clean Beach” devoted to well-being of the Baltic Sea environment is held on 18 May 2019 in St. Petersburg (Russia). The event provides opportunity to participate in the cleaning of beaches and to get information about the effects of litter on water bodies and seas through raising awareness and interactive involvement. At the regional level, campaign “Clean Beach” contributes to the implementation of the HELCOM Regional Action Plan on Marine Litter from Baltic parties.
