UBC Sustainable Cities invites you to the Commission meeting in Greifswald, Germany on 27–28 April 2022! The first offline event after the coronavirus-caused break will be under the topic "Sustainable Cities: Trends and Challenges in the Baltic Sea Region".

Port and ferry terminal areas can sometimes overlap with urban centres and create tensions in the movement of residents. How to plan safe and sustainable integration of the industrial areas into the lively urban spaces and take the best from holistic and sustainable mobility solutions?

For three years, the HUPMOBILE project has been developing a holistic approach to sustainable mobility solutions in port cities of the Baltic Sea Region. Now it’s time to share our achievements and lessons learned with the region! Welcome to the HUPMOBILE Final Seminar!

Welcome to join the HUPMOBILE webinar on Seamless Sustainable Mobility on 21st of May 2021 at 10-12 CET. The speakers of the day include experts on sustainable mobility issues from different organisations from Finland, Germany and Sweden and the webinar has been organised by the City of Turku (Finland) in cooperation with the Union of the Baltic Cities Sustainable Cities Commission.  Note that the webinar will be recorded! The HUPMOBILE webinar on Developing ports and their neighbourhood was held on 20th of May 2021 at 10-12 CET. The speakers of the day included experts on mobility issues and port development from different organisations from Finland and Estonia and the webinar was been organised by the City of Turku (Finland) in cooperation with the Union of the Baltic Cities Sustainable Cities Commission.  Interested to learn more? The first session of the cities.multimodal webinar series is dedicated to the Living Street concept, its adaption and implementation in the Baltic Sea Region context.

This year's midterm conference of HUPMOBILE was supposed to be held in Hamburg. However, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we cannot organize it as a face-to-face conference. Instead, we are organizing two short virtual events on different days discussing the future of mobility in the Baltic Sea Region cities. During these two days, we will focus on the concept of Fusion Mobility and whether COVID-19 has an impact on the development of sustainable mobility. Both webinars are open for everyone and free of charge.

The UBC TALKS in June will be dedicated to the intelligent transport solutions piloting. The webinar will introduce the Hupmobile project and ITS piloting, as well as present the agile piloting in Helsinki.

The webinar in May opens up the topic "Change your way(s) – towards multimodal urban mobility in BSR cities" with experiences from Pskov, Tartu and Riga.

Lisbon was chosen to host the 5th edition of the URBAN FUTURE Global Conference (UFGC), Europe’s largest event for sustainable cities, that will bring together around 3,000 decision makers and professionals from over 60 countries from 1st to 3rd April 2020.  This conference, which is considered to be a multidisciplinary urban event, has brought together, over the past four editions, people willing to be drivers of sustainable change in the cities where they live, creating synergies for the development of concrete projects.

Policymakers and experts are invited to a workshop focusing on how to increase safety for unprotected road users using simple and low-cost methods. The workshop is hosted by the City of Stockholm and partners of the EU project CIVITAS ECCENTRIC, in which Stockholm works with the cities of Madrid (Spain), Munich (Germany), Ruse (Bulgaria)and Turku (Finland) to demonstrate actions supporting safe walking and cycling and a range of other mobility solutions.
