What are the pathways that lead to a more sustainable world?
Pathways to Sustainability Transformation Science Day 2017 provide as a discussion forum for researchers, students, policy makers, companies and other interest groups in order to support dialogue between science and the society and serve as a platform for sustainability scientists to present their latest research findings. To increase the societal impact of the event, we also aim to produce a policy brief, which will be formed from the findings discussed in the event.

The Symposium “The Road from Paris: Implementing Climate Change Management and Strategies in Cities and Municipalities in the Baltic Sea Region” is being organized by Uppsala University, Sweden and HAW Hamburg, Germany in the Baltic University Programme (BUP), together with Union of Baltic Cities (UBC), and Uppsala municipality under the auspices of the International Climate Change Information Programme (ICCIP). Cooperation partners include the Council of European Regions and Council of Baltic Sea States (CBSS).
United Nations Conference on climate change - COP 21

From 30 November to 11 December 2015, Paris will chair and host the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21). Since 1995, the COP has been held each year in a different country and attended by the 196 parties (195 states + the European Union) that have ratified the Convention to review implementation of the Convention and negotiate new commitments.

The 6th Annual Forum of the European Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR), will take place between the 15th and the 16th of June in Jūrmala, Latvia. This year title - "Achieving e-Quality by Connecting the Region" will provide the opportunity for the region’s stakeholders to discuss and analyse the current and future challenges that the BSR is facing in the fields of competitiveness and digital connectivity; how information and communication technology is transforming the region and changing peoples' lives.
73rd UBC Executive Board meeting

The 73rd Executive Board Meeting of the Union of the Baltic Cities will take place in Dolina Charlotty, Poland between the 10th and the 14th June 2015.
The meeting will serve as a framework for discussions on general UBC metters and for networking activities. During the event, the Communications Seminar's follow up will also be hosted.
Baltic Sea Region Forum
The eighth Baltic Sea Region Forum will take place in Turku on the 4th of June 201. This year's theme: "What does the Cold Peace between the EU and Russia mean for the Baltic Sea region?" will focus on on business and economics, environmental co-operation, regional co-operation and on research findings on the topic.
