The European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) is the biggest annual Brussels-based event dedicated to cohesion policy.

It has grown to become a unique communication and networking platform, bringing together regions and cities from all over Europe, including politicians, administrators, experts and academics. Over the last 19 years, it has done much to promote policy learning and the exchange of good practice.

The 20th edition will provide the opportunity to debate, keeping communities connected, exchanging best practices and ideas between partners and participants on four themes: Green transition, Territorial Cohesion, Digital transition, Youth empowerment.

Programme highlights

The event programme includes both online and onsite programme. It includes manifold approaches to the green transition subject.

The Green City Accord initiative will organise an info session "Driving the green transition through political will and integrated action" (12 October from 12:30 - 13:30 CEST). The information session will feature signatory cities Munich (Germany), Alba Iulia (Romania) and Valencia (Spain), who will explore their rationale for joining this movement of forward-thinking mayors.

The Union of the Baltic Cities will hold a workshop on "Effective policies for inclusion in cities during and after the war in Ukraine" (11 October 2022 14:30 - 16:00 CEST). The workshop will address the roles of regional and local authorities in challenges emerging from the war in Ukraine. What tools and strategies have cities developed in response to the crisis and what tools or resources are most valuable now.
