UBC – CDP report 2019 published: UBC cities’ adaptation actions to extreme weather events

The disclosure period took place from 15 April to 31 July 2019 during which UBC cities were encouraged to submit their city’s climate change-related data as well as examples of actions that are being taken for climate mitigation and adaptation. Lahti - the European Green Capital 2021!

Biggest congratulations to Lahti on the behalf of UBC Sustainable Cities Commission and the rest of the UBC! City of Lahti was awarded the title of European Green Capital 2021 by the European Commission on 20 June 2019 in an award ceremony in Oslo, Norway. Lahti is the first-ever Finnish city to receive the title.

UBC member cities actively learning and exchanging to (further) develop their SUMPs!

In autumn 2017 the first SUMP Learning Programme was launched within the CIVITAS SUMPs-Up programme and since then over 70 cities from all over Europe have learned, exchanged, discussed and cooperated in four learning programmes. The fifth and last SLP has started in May this year.

Karlskrona has an “energ(y)iraffe” – charging e-vehicles with renewable energy

On April 27th Karlskronas municipal commissioner for planning and environment, Magnus Larsson, revealed the name of the new charging station to the public in the opening ceremony: energiraffen.
