The Urban Biodiversity Parks project pilots the concept of a biodiversity park as a tool for urban ecological restoration and regeneration. The aim is to establish a 20-hectare biodiversity park that provides a platform for testing various nature management activities, focusing on local species and habitats, while also serving as a space for community engagement and experiential learning.

Liepaja: Transforming Urban Climate Action with Real-Time CO2 Monitoring

Traditionally, transport emissions are estimated using fuel sales data at national or regional levels – a method far too imprecise for meaningful local action. In 2024, Liepaja partnered with cleantech startup GaiaHub and EIT Urban Mobility to challenge this approach. The result: a scalable digital solution that uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to track vehicle flows and calculate street-level CO2 emissions in real time.
Gdynia 2030: Planning mobility through participation and data

Gdynia is part of the SUMPs for BSR project (Interreg Baltic Sea Region), which supports small and mid-sized cities in creating Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans that promote walking, cycling and low-emission travel through practical tools, data collection and pilot activities.
Greifswald receives national award for climate-friendly urban development

The national award was given to the City of Greifswald recognising the city's outstanding progress in the area of resilient urban development, particularly in Schönwalde I and II districts. Within the framework of the urban development funding programs Greifswald has focused specifically on the sustainable improvement of infrastructure and the creation of climate-friendly living spaces.
Turku is moving towards a more climate resilient future
