In mid-September the UBC Sustainable Cities Commission gathered in the Baltic Sea coast city Klaipeda, Lithuania for the annual commission meeting! This year’s meeting on sustainable urban mobility gathered representatives from 16 different UBC cities.

UBC cities continue as transparent climate leaders in the Baltic Sea Region

Back in 2016, UBC and CDP agreed upon collaboration between the two organizations with the first cooperation activities taking place in spring 2017. As a result, UBC doubled the number of cities reporting to CDP from 6 to 20. This year, the number of the cities disclosing to CDP grew to 28 in despite of the busiest holiday season.

The IWAMA project organized its last capacity development workshop on “Constructional and operational challenges” in wastewater treatment sector. The event was held in Gdańsk, Poland, on 19–21 September 2018, attracting more than 70 participants from the water sector in the Baltic Sea Region.

CIVITAS ECCENTRIC workshop: replicating sustainable urban mobility measures

The CIVITAS ECCENTRIC project is holding a workshop from 17-18 September in Stockholm, Sweden, that will give participants insight into the innovative work being undertaken in its five project cities. City representatives are invited to come the Swedish capital and learn about the selection, development, and implementation of sustainable urban mobility measures from cities currently going through these processes.
