We are CIVITAS ECCENTRIC – 5 cities on their way to innovative mobility measures in their neighbourhoods

The five European cities Turku, Stockholm, Munich, Madrid and Ruse, together with a variety of supporting partners, have implemented 51 measures and tested innovative sustainable mobility solutions in the living laboratory areas. To give some deeper insight to the project results and achievements, CIVITAS ECCENTRIC will end its project lifetime together with the CIVITAS sister projects DESTINATIONS and PORTIS during a 3 week event.

First Mobility Point launched in Riga

The Riga Municipal Agency “Riga Energy Agency” has launched the first mobility point in Riga and Latvia in the VEF district, connecting different sustainable modes of transport and offering convenient access to micro mobility and public transport opportunities. The mobility point will also serve as a pilot area for deployment of innovative, data-based solutions, including both a bicycle and pedestrian counter and a testbed for smart city solutions.

The 10th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region was organized in the beautiful Polish Baltic Frederic Chopin Philharmonic in Gdansk, Poland, on June 12th to 13th. The theme of this year’s forum was demographic changes along with the circular and shared economy – the discussions were, in other words, timely and important for the development of the BSR!

CIVITAS ECCENTRIC get-together at Urban Future Global Conference in Oslo

Urban Future Global Conference is an event for all the people who aim to make their city more sustainable. This year’s conference attracted 2500 city changers to Oslo to learn more about topics such as car-free city life, cutting carbon emissions and circular economy, among others.
