UBC Sustainable and Planning Cities Commission seminar in Gdansk
We are happy to invite you to our next Commission meeting, which will be organised together by the UBC Sustainable and Planning Cities Commissions! The joint seminar will take place on 9-12 September 2024 in Gdańsk.
Sustainable transformation for resilient coastal city
The event will focus on Gdańsk harbour and riverside areas as case studies, allowing creative flow and exchange of experiences among representatives of different UBC cities. The development strategy of Gdańsk encourages seeking new solutions and implementing adaptive measures to make public spaces more green, inclusive and accessible. At the joint seminar, we will get to plan such spaces together – as a group of sustainability experts, city planners, and architects.
Help us bring the smart urban planning to the next level and ensure that the new city areas include green spaces and are ready for active mobility solutions, offer the connection with clean water spaces, and are prepared for climate risks! Join us in Gdańsk as we look for opportunities to revitalize urban structure by finding the best ideas for sustainable and smart transformation of port and industrial areas.
"Over four days, we will enjoy lectures, engaging study visits, and intensive workshop, all aimed at discussing the revitalisation of case port and industrial areas from multiple perspectives. Your presence will enrich our conversations and contribute to developing sustainable and innovative solutions for urban renewal in Gdańsk."
— Piotr Grzelak, Deputy Mayor for Sustainable Development and Investment, City of Gdańsk, Vice-President of the UBC
