The 11th EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region Annual Forum, focused on “Our Region, Our Future – Towards a Decade of Innovation and Sustainability”, will be organized on 20 October 2020 as a virtual event. Participants will be able to network and participate in discussions via mobile application and event platform via website, and the Networking Village will be available online. Annual Forum's Workshops

30 September 13.00–15.30 CET, Zoom: Unlocking the nutrient recycling potential in the Baltic Sea Region

The BSR WATER platform led by our Commission uses this opportunity to join the discussions on smart water management and contribute with recommendations for its development based on the knowledge accumulated in the project. In the framework of the Forum, BSR WATER platform, together with the platform SuMaNu, co-organizes an online workshop discussing the state-of-the-art in nutrient recycling within and across the two sectors, agriculture and municipal wastewater management, raise a set of priority issues to address and outline recommendations to stakeholders as input to the update of the post-2020 EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. 12 October 11.00–13.40 CET, Zoom: Reducing security risks related to the climate change and mainstreaming climate agenda in EUSBSR after 2020

Organized jointly by the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) and our Commission, this workshop will focus on the climate change related security risks, introduce selected hazards and cascading consequences for the Baltic Sea Region, and open the discussion on the opportunities existing in the region for climate change cooperation and facilitation. As a result, the workshop will produce a joint advice on mainstreaming the climate agenda and aspects in the updated EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region after 2020.
