UBC TALKS about EU Mission: climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030
The UBC TALKS webinar on will focus on the 100 Cities Mission and how UBC member cities included in this number plan to reach climate neutrality.
The year 2022 marks the start of the EU Mission process for 100 cities to become climate-neutral and smart by 2030. UBC Sustainable Cities Commission organises a webinar to exchange the plans and ambitions of its member cities (12 UBC members were selected for this Mission), as well as available support throughout the process. This webinar will provide an opportunity for the first discussions, as the cities prepare concrete plans on committing to becoming climate-neutral by 2030.
The programme of the webinar includes the outline and goals of the Cities Mission to be presented by the Mission Manager Patrick Child, Deputy Director-General for DG Environment, European Commission. It will be followed by pitches and discussions among UBC member cities Gävle, Tartu and Umeå selected for the Mission. The webinar will also highlight the available support from the NetZeroCities project for both the Mission cities and those that are following their steps.
