Cities in the Baltic Sea Region are dealing with similar challenges when it comes to urban planning and development. How to apply more integrated approach to the development of urban environment? How to involve all necessary parties in the planning process and how to promote sustainable urban development?

Many of our projects are directly dealing with these questions. And this is why UBC Sustainable Cities Commission is hosting a webinar open to all UBC cities and other experts to share information about our projects and sustainable urban planning approaches. The webinar will be organised on April 11th 2018 at 10:00-11:30 CET. (See information about registering in the info box on the right)

This webinar is an excellent opportunity to hear more about the lessons learnt from the projects, our work in the field of urban planning, what kind of tools are available and how working together with colleagues from other municipalities and countries can be a driver of change in our cities.

You will get the possibility to hear more about the experiences and work from:

  • Baltic Urban Lab project developing integrated planning and partnership approaches for brownfield development
  • iWater project improving urban planning by development of integrated and multifunctional storm water management in the Central Baltic cities
  • Skanssi project developing a new Smart and Sustainable residential area as an innovation platform in Turku, Finland

In addition we have a guest speaker from CDP - the global climate disclosure organisation, enlightening us on how global climate data benchmarking can be beneficial for Baltic Sea Region cities in the context of urban planning.

Every presentation will end with a Q&A session, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and to share information about your city's projects & good practices with us and your international colleagues!
