New staff in the UBC SCC office - welcome!

We are pleased to introduce some new faces among our staff:

Mr Juha Pulmuranta started to work for UBC SCC in December 2017. Juha is responsible for communication and dissemination activities in CIVITAS ECCENTRIC project, which focuses on
sustainable suburban mobility.  From 2014 to 2017 Juha worked for Regional Council of Southwest Finland in an ERDF funded project called 6Aika, which focused on open data in the six largest cities in Finland. During his earlier career Juha has e.g. developed municipal carpooling, promoted teleworking, taught the use of social media and hosted a co-working space.

Ms Sini Lamoureux set foot at the UBC SCC in spring 2018, at that time as a trainee. Today her work as a project planner consists of dissemination of the cities.multimodal project along with other responsibilities. Alongside her work, Sini is studying for a Master’s degree in Governance of Digitalization at Åbo Akademi University in Turku. In her spare time Sini enjoys working out and watching crime series.

Mr Roope Virta started as a Project Coordinator at UBC SCC in August 2018. Roope is specialised in developing mobility services within the CIVITAS ECCENTRIC project that focuses on sustainable suburban mobility. From 2009 to 2018 Roope worked for the local transport authority in the municipality of Salo in Finland. There his main responsibilities included planning, production/procurement, administration and development of public transport services.

Ms Nuppu Ervasti is the new Communication and Network Manager for the UBC Sustainable Cities Commisson. She is also working as a Communications Officer for the CIVITAS ECCENTRIC project in Turku. Nuppu found her way to UBC from the Central Administration of the City of Turku where she worked as internal communications specialist and web editor. She also has a background working at various NGO’s. Nuppu is s substituting Jutta Mäkinen during her maternity leave.

Ms Anna Lilja has worked as a Project Officer for CIVITAS ECCENTRIC and Furniture Recycling projects for the City of Turku since autumn 2017. In the CIVITAS ECCENTRIC her work mainly focuses on supporting sustainable mobility by implementing experiments and sharing information about smart, sustainable mobility. Anna is a Bachelor of Natural Resources.

Ms Katariina Salokannel works as a project officer in CIVITAS ECCENTRIC project. Katariina coordinates the city bike system called Föli Fillarit in Turku. Besides her job Katariina is writing her bachelor’s thesis and will graduate from engineering studies by Christmas 2018.
