The CIVITAS SUMPs-Up project offers a series of free e-courses to anyone interested in learning more about sustainable urban mobility planning.

The SUMP learning programme for mobility practitioners consists in total of 7 e-courses. The courses tackle different phases in the SUMP process starting from how to initiate a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) and prepare a SUMP vision in cooperation with various stakeholders, elaborate the SUMP strategy and select SUMP measures and on how to finally implement SUMP.

Each course contains several modules and concrete case examples from European cities. Some of the courses also include exercises that help to review your city’s own SUMP practices.

How to join the courses?

The courses will be launches in three phases. The first package focusing on how to initiate SUMP process is now available in the Mobility Academy.

It consists of:

Course 1: Preparing for SUMP and analysis of the mobility situation,
Course 2: Co-creating the SUMP vision
Course 3: SUMP as a strategic plan  with measureable targets

The next package with 3 courses focusing more on elaboration of the SUMP document and selection of measures will be launched in spring 2019. The last package focusing on the implementation of SUMP will be launched in autumn 2019.
