The webinar was hosted by Agnieszka Ilola, Head of Secretariat, UBC Sustainable Cities Commission and Kaspars Vārpiņš, Chairman, UBC Safe Cities Commission opening the broadcast with the welcoming words. Antti Mäkelä, Senior Scientist, Finnish Meteorological Institute, introduced the topic and its importance in the presentation "Understanding local climate resilience and disaster risk management". Andriy Martynenko, Adviser, Council of the Baltic Sea States introduced strengthening community preparedness in the Baltic Sea Region. Three cities showcased their solutions: Erik Glaas, Climate Adaptation Strategist, Gävle Municipality, Annika Kettunen, Climate Change Adaptation Planning Officer, City of Tampere, Øyvind Hellang, Senior Researcher, NORCE Norwegian Research Centre, Kristiansand.
