The Monitoring & Evaluation Kit has been designed to support mobility practitioners in assessing the impact of measures and evaluating the mobility planning process. It looks at designing the process of monitoring and evaluation, choosing suitable indicators and data and selecting the most appropriate data presentation, analysis and evaluation methods – all underpinned by city examples. It also provides a template that proposes a structure for local Monitoring and Evaluation Plans and outlines indicators for monitoring and evaluation.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Kit consists of the following components:
- Quick facts brochure: a concise summary of reasons for monitoring and evaluation and main steps in the process;
- Monitoring & Evaluation Manual: a comprehensive handbook providing detailed explanation of the monitoring and evaluation challenges and practical recommendations for how these can be overcome;
- Online learning course: an interactive e-learning course inviting interested mobility practitioners to learn more about monitoring and evaluation at their own pace and from anywhere in the world. The e-learning course can be taken at the Mobility Academy(www.mobility-academy.eu).
The Monitoring & Evaluation Kit has been developed in the CH4LLENGE project, which is co-funded by the European Commission’s Intelligent Energy Europe Programme and has the overall aim to facilitate the take-up of SUMPs throughout Europe. To download the materials (in 9 European languages) go to www.sump-challenges.eu/kits; for more information on the CH4LLENGE project, visit www.sump-challenges.eu; more information on SUMPs in general can be found at www.eltis.org.
