How to make cities more resilient? Results and recommendations from the CASCADE project

The CASCADE (Community Safety Action for Supporting Climate Adaptation and Development) project brought together civil protection professionals and climate change adaptation experts to build urban resilience and to improve the capacity to understand, assess, and treat current and future climate change related risks on the local level, focusing on the particular in Baltic Sea Region conditions. 

Among the partners of the CASCADE project, there are three UBC member cities (Hamburg, Liepaja and Turku) and the Safe Cities Commission and the Sustainable Cities Commission.  

The project is now coming to an end - join the final conference online to learn about the project results and recommendations including the launch of the Toolbox for Climate Risk Preparedness!

CASCADE final conference will:

  • Launch  the Toolbox for climate risk preparedness
  • Discuss what can be done by countries and municipalities to better adapt to climate change
  • Introduce training related climate change adaptation
  • Talk about the future of climate change adaptation and resilience
