The cities.multimodal project looks back on a busy first year. The partner cities conducted a comprehensive preparatory analysis incl. interviews with stakeholders, collected statistical data on their pilot area and implemented a survey among their citizens in order to get to know the mobility situation and behavior in their cities. The outcomes are now published as fact sheets on our website take a look!

After two intensive project meetings in Turku and Riga and a workshop on mobility points, we have come a great step further in the planning of these activities. Some partners already started to implement first mobility management measures in cooperation with schools and kindergartens. Furthermore, we organized our first study visit within the project. In September, project partners travelled to Copenhagen and Malmö in order to learn and experience (by bike!) the cities’ long-term experience on sustainable mobility planning and citizens involvement.

What will happen in 2019?

We will have the third project meeting in Aarhus in April, together with a first train-the-trainer event for our project partners. In May, the 2nd study visit is planned. Partner cities will travel to the City of Bremen - a real frontrunner in the implementation of Mobility Points. Peer reviews are conducted, citizen involvement methods and campaign concepts tested - these are only a few things that will come up and we are looking forward to as a consortium.
