Shaping Europe’s Green Future: Baltic Sea Region Leaders Meet in Vilnius On 26 November 2025, Vilnius will host the Green Governance Day, a high-level gathering of municipal leaders, policy-makers, and experts from across the Baltic Sea Region and Europe to advance the dialogue on sustainable public governance. The event will serve as a platform to promote green governance as a key political priority, highlighting how public procurement, policy innovation, and municipal leadership can accelerate the green transition.

This key Baltic Sea Region event is dedicated to exploring innovative solutions for addressing organic micropollutants, including pharmaceuticals and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), in the context of the evolving regulatory landscape in Europe.

As the European Union embarks on a new financial programming period, cities are uniquely positioned to influence and benefit from EU policies. This conference will focus on strengthening the role of cities in the EU, ensuring their priorities influence policy and funding decisions. The agenda will address navigating new EU financial frameworks, enhancing advocacy, maximizing funding opportunities, building policy engagement capacities, fostering inter-city cooperation, and maintaining urban issues on the EU agenda. At the UBC TALKS webinar on 7 October 2025 (09.30–11.00 CEST / 10.30–12.00 EEST), experts and city representatives will explore how monitoring frameworks and innovative pilots help cities support active mobility and achieve their climate goals. Together with Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP), World Maritime University (WMU), and Union of the Baltic Cities (UBC) - the City of Malmö is hosting a pivotal conference on Future-proofing Our Port Cities, taking place 30 September – 1 October 2025. The conference brings together decision-makers, representatives from business, academia and the public sector from across Europe to jointly discuss future strategies for Europe's coastal and port cities in light of climate change.
