Union of the Baltic Cities Sustainable Cities Commission is one of the thematic Commissions of the Union of the Baltic Cities (UBC). Union of the Baltic Cities is a voluntary, proactive network mobilizing the shared potential of its member cities for democratic, economic, social, cultural and environmentally sustainable development of the Baltic Sea Region.

Yet one challenge remains common: turning ambition into action. The Interreg-funded BSR Urban Mobility project platform supports cities exactly at this point. It brings together cities, regions, and experts into one shared platform and helps local authorities use existing knowledge, tested tools, and practical experience more effectively. Instead of working alone, cities can build on what others have already developed and adapt it to their own local context.
Climate budget training banner
By connecting climate objectives with financial planning and decision-making, climate budgeting helps cities ensure that resources are directed towards actions that support emissions reductions and long-term sustainability goals. It also strengthens transparency and collaboration across municipal departments.

UBC TALKS is a series of webinars launched by the UBC Sustainable Cities Commission to discuss various sustainability topics in the Baltic Sea Region.
