SUSTAINMENT - Integrated Solutions for the Sustainability Management in Baltic Cities

Project description

SUSTAINMENT aimed to meet the needs and challenges of local authorities towards a more integrated sustainability process. The project improved and integrated the work already done on sustainable development, created Sustainability Management Centers (SMC) in cooperation with the 12 partner cities, enabled the abilities of the local authorities to develop their working methods, skills and personnel in order to significantly contribute to all the dimensions on sustainable development. Cross-sectorial cooperation was a key element in the project. To support the development and establishment of sustainability management units in cities SUSTAINMENT produced an URBANworks-toolbox that provided local authorities with situation specific guidance, tools and concrete city examples to ensure a unit for sustainable city development.
