The City of Rostock is pursuing the development of Rostock as a sustainable and green city. In order to achieve this goal, many mobility projects need to be implemented which include many stakeholders such as urban planners, environmentalists, tourism experts and others. We believe that only with the exchange of best practices with other European cities can we contribute to the achievements of sustainable goals.

The pandemic situation, however, allows us only to meet online. This is why we decided to organise Webinars with the focus on urban mobility. As a result, we plan to establish a long standing network of mobility experts, who could reach to each other for advice, support and development of new projects.

The webinar series will focus on four topics: bike-friendly city, public transport, car-free city centre and electric vehicles. During each webinar the experts from Rostock and other European cities will present their two successful projects. Moreover, the participants will have the opportunity for individual questions or discussions in separate chat rooms and to further develop contacts with other participants and experts.

The first Webinar will take place at the end of February, and some of the projects to be discussed and presented will be bridge for cyclists, sustainable mobility plan and library for bikes. We look forward to learn together with the colleagues form Lahti, Finland / European Green Capital 2021; Copenhagen, Denmark / Most bicycle-friendly capital of Europe and Guldborgsund Municipality, Denmark / Rostock bicycle connection to Scandinavia.
