The Urban Transitions Mission (UTM) was launched at the COP26 in November 2021 with the aim to increase the capacity of cities worldwide, empowering them to shape urban transitions based on robust knowledge and a strong net-zero community of support and exchange. The Mission aims to mobilise decision makers across all levels of government to prioritise climate-neutral and net-zero solutions enabled by clean energy and systemic innovation across all sectors and in urban governance.
By accelerating capacity-building and closing the gap between research, development and deployment, the Mission will empower cities to adopt innovative solutions and help reach tipping points in the cost and scale of those solutions for urban transitions.

The Urban Transition Mission opens a call for cities to accelerate clean energy urban solutions and offers the possibility to join the Urban Transitions Mission City cohort!
The first 50 cities are already on board and the Mission is now looking for 250 other pioneering cities to join by 2024!
Interested cities can apply online and express their interest to join the Mission’s cohort by 21 August.
