Head of Secretariat Mr. Björn Grönholm awarded with a Baltic Sea Prize

Mr. Björn Grönholm, Head of Secretariat at the Union of the Baltic Cities Commission on Environment, has been awarded with the Europe Foundation’s Baltic Sea Prize 2013. The Europe Foundation is a Finnish foundation that focuses on the protective work done for the Baltic Sea as well as overall co-operation between Finland and Europe. The foundation was established in 2000 and the Baltic Sea Prize was first awarded in 2010.

Mr. Grönholm, Head of Secretariat, UBC Commission on Environment since 2006, received the prize for his wide-ranging work among environmental issues in the Baltic Sea region. During the past 20 years Mr. Grönholm has promoted economic, social, cultural and environmental development through different organisations, as a university researcher, and with the work done within the UBC Commission on Environment Secretariat.
