Webinar: UBC TALKS about Cascading consequences of climate hazards

The first UBC TALKS webinar of 2021 discussed climate hazards and how cities in the Baltic Sea Region can build resilience and was co-hosted with the Safe Cities Commission.

The webinar was started by Heidi Tuhkanen from SEI Tallinn summarizing the climate risk drivers and hazards of the Baltic Sea Region. Miikka Toivonen from the City of Turku continued talking about how to understand, assess and treat climate change risks on the local level. Next, Jürgen Krempin from the City of Hamburg presented about increasing climate change adaptation knowledge. Valdur Lahtvee from the Council of the Baltic Sea States closed the webinar talking about what is new in climate adaptation policy in the Baltic Sea Region.
