Experimenting scales of local climate change adaptation work

Experimenting scales of local climate change adaptation work

Virtual workshop on 14 Oct 2021

At which level should local climate change adaptation work be carried out? This workshop will discuss decision-making and adaptation action at a municipal level and on a larger scale at a county level.

Welcome to a virtual workshop about experimenting scales of local climate change adaptation work on October 14th 2021 at 12-15 (GMT +3, Helsinki). The event is organized by the project “Climate resilience with Baltic Sea co-operation – Flood and Drought Risk Management”. The event welcomes persons from local, regional governments and national governments as well as researchers familiar with climate change adaptation issues from the Baltic Sea Region to participate.

The workshop is inspired by the Danish and Swedish examples of mandatory municipal or county level climate change adaptation plans and related advisory services and other support. An exercise will be carried out demonstrating how climate change adaptation work could function at these two different levels. The workshop is also a great opportunity to network and find fresh ideas for co-operation across the Baltic Sea Region.
